WORKFORCE INNOVATION AND OPPORTUNITY ACT (WIOA)
The Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) of 2014 provides the framework for a unique workforce preparation and employment system designed to meet both the needs of the job seekers and those who want to further their careers or education. The most important aspect of the ACT is its focus on meeting the needs of local businesses for skilled workers and the training, education and employment needs of the individuals.
- WIOA offers training opportunities for eligible residents in St. Clair, Monroe, Clinton, Randolph, Washington, Madison, Bond, and other surrounding counties.
- WIOA provides funding for tuition, fees, books, and required supplies for approved individuals.

IL WORKNET RESOURCE ROOM
SWIC’s Illinois Worknet Office provides members of the community assistance with resume and cover letter writing and job search techniques utilizing all the latest tools to further their career development and employment goals.
At the Belleville Campus, the IL Worknet Resource Room is located on the first floor of the Information Sciences Building.
